Anthony Redpath

commercial and fine art photographer

Anthony’s interests lie in the effects of human behavior on socio-economic transformations. Controlling the subject, mood and narrative, he reveals the changing human predicament. His use of color emphasizes these transitions: the murky, green doorway in ‘’Aquaculture’ with its peeling paint is strengthened in its close proximity to the red metal materials for new construction. In ‘Long Beach 07/25/09’ an almost humorous excess of tourists is depicted, as if they multiply logarithmically while, despite that, local resource-based industry slows. From a distance, the viewer experience the human species as a whole, but in moving closer to the photographs, the fine detail allows one to focus on the stories of the individuals.
